Selected students from the TAU-Laboratory School joins the search for Mr. and Ms. Social Science Fair and flaunts indigenous group national costumes made of biodegradable materials on Thursday, January 19.

 

Each grade level was assigned with the indigenous group they will be using as an inspiration behind their costumes. 

 

Contestants from Grade 7A (Taosog), 7B (Batak), 8A (Ifugao), 8B (Kalinga), 9A (Panay Bukidnon), 9B (Mandaya), 10A (Hanunuo), 10B (Ibaloi), 11-ABM (Ati), 11-HUMSS (Isnag), 11-STEM A (Tboli), 11-STEM B (Bogobo-Tagabawa), 12-ABM (Gad’ang), 12-HUMSS (Cuyunon), 12-STEM A (Alangan), and 12-STEM B (Lakan) took turns exhibiting their costumes to the judges.

 

8A Representative Sean Christoff Dejesa, who was brandishing an Ifugao costume, and 11-STEM B Representative Raven Lacuin, who was sporting a Bogobo-Tabagawa costume, won the Best in Costume awards. 

 

Mr. and Ms. Social Science Fair was triumphed by 9A - Representative Marco Nucum as Mr. Panay-Bukidnon, and 11-STEM A Representative Alyssa Lumibao as Ms. Tboli. 

 

Apart from the abovementioned contest, multiple other activities were also launched to be joined by LSians. 

 

Various students also participated in the Bayani Look-Alike’, Essay Writing Contest, Quiz Bee Competition, Debate Eliminations and Finals, Social Science Trail, and Spoken Word Poetry Competition. 

 

Organized by the TAU-LS Social Science club led by Heziemiah Pascual, the activities were a part of the 2-day Social Science Fair held on January 18-19.
